of the seminal soul/ trip-hop outfit Spacek, under his new project ʻThe Earlymanʼ.

Championed whilst in Spacek by Gilles Peterson - receiving heavy play on Radio 1 & initially spotted by

Mos Def, Cavill is now focusing primarily on his solo project ʻThe Earlymanʼ

The Earlymanʼs debut record ʻLola Unaʼ seeʼs Ed gather together some of the finest and freshest MCʼs

around with vocal offerings from the likes of Foreign Beggars, Killa P (Roll Deep) and the gentleman

that is Trevor Goodchilde amongst many others. Ed wanted to break the cold loop sound of so many

laptop productions so with atmosphere in mind these tracks usually started as 15-hour sprawling

instrumentals. Having recorded most of the tracks in living room and bedroom he wanted to create

something new and surprising but with enough bounce to move and inspire his collaborators.
